A Few More Recipes You Have to Try-Influenced By Coffee!

Our last blog was all about what you can do to use coffee in your cooking. For some, this is a foreign concept, but for others, it’s a way to incorporate the best part of their day--coffee--into the second best part of their day--food. We mentioned pork chops and red eye gravy as well as coffee-seasoned beef jerky in our previous post.

The idea is so intriguing to us though that we are heading back in for round two! That’s why in today’s blog we’d like to take a look at a few more ways to use the coffee you buy online from King’s Koffee in your cooking. Keep reading to get our recommendations.

Coffee Fried Chicken

There’s something about fried chicken that’s just comforting. After a long day at the office, you can head home knowing that not only are you going to get some good, old fashioned comfort food, but you’ll get that little pick-me-up you need to get the most of out your nightly hobby where it’s woodworking or reading a good book.

In our recipe, we like to keep things simple. Take a few chicken breasts, melt a bit of butter, grind up just a bit of coffee, and crush up some puffed rice cereal (whether you use Rice Krispies or a knockoff brand is entirely up to you). Dip your chicken in the butter, then coat with your rice cereal and coffee grounds for a bit of extra flavor. From here, you can either fry your chicken up in a bit of oil in the skillet, or simply throw them in the oven on a baking pan at 425 for 35 minutes or so depending on the size of your chicken breasts. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s delicious. Serve with a baked potato and enjoy!

Coffee Chili

Some of the best chilis in the world incorporate ingredients you wouldn’t necessarily associate with chili. Whether it’s a chunk of melted chocolate or a dash of buffalo sauce, we say that more unique chilis out there, the better. What better way to take your chili to the next level than with the best light roast coffee you can find?

You can opt to add a bit of ground coffee to your dish at any step of the way or you can boil your beans along with some coffee grounds, but whatever road you decide to take, the path is sure to end in a smile on your face and a satisfied tummy. Sounds pretty good to us!

Coffee Brownies

Whether you’re the type of person who swears by your grandmother’s made-from-scratch brownie recipe or you enjoy keeping things simple with a store bought mix, adding in coffee can only serve to make things better, right? If you’re looking to try something completely different, this recipe from the Pioneer Woman is full of the good stuff, utilizing the coffee as the secret ingredient in the mocha icing.

No matter which recipe you choose, we think you will agree that coffee and chocolate go together like...well, like coffee and chocolate! These are the perfect things to take with you to lunch for a little mid morning pick-me-up so you can make it through the day with ease.
